In 2006, Hope Presbyterian Church moved into a beautiful new church in Omaha, Nebraska. This church finally provided the faith family with a proper home. But, as with any home, that home came with a cost. For the Hope community, that was nearly $2 million in debt on a 20-year mortgage. The community diligently paid off more than $1 million of the debt, but these payments limited the church’s ministries. Church leadership partnered with the Steier Group for Our Hope, Our Future, a debt reduction capital campaign. By raising funds to take care of a big portion of the debt, Hope Presbyterian could save on interest payments and more quickly retire the debt. The small community partnered with the Steier Group for a second campaign as well – raising more than $600,000 in total. In 2022, Hope Presbyterian enlisted the professional services of the Steier Group once again to create and execute A Blessed Past…a Hopeful Future capital campaign which addresses debt, funds a new sound system and builds the maintenance fund.
